Swatosh Sues Employers Who Refuse To Pay Their Employees

Plaintiff, a local cook/bartender/shift supervisor, regularly worked 50-60 hours a week yet Defendants failed and refused to pay Plaintiff his wages, as required by law. Additionally, soon after Plaintiff was hired by Defendants, Plaintiff learned that it is and was Defendants’ practice and policy of repackaging inferior liquor.   Namely, when a bottle of premium alcohol ran low, it was taken to the Defendants’ basement and re-filled with an inferior, cheaper brand of alcohol.  On or about June 22, 2015, Plaintiff called the City of St. Louis, Department of Public Safety, Excise Division to report Defendants’ illegal activity. In violation of Missouri public policy, Defendants retaliated against Plaintiff by firing him the following day.

The lawsuit is filed in the City of St. Louis Circuit Court, titled Bielefeldt v Gravois Food and Beverage, LLC d/b/a City Bistro, Case No. 1522-CC10615.
